South London based artist, songwriter and producer Conor Albert returns with “We never talk” on Ninja Tune. The single features Conor’s own vocals and marks his first new music since his acclaimed EP ‘Collage 2’, released in 2022. His previous work – lauded by the likes of The Independent, Clash, Notion, The Line of Best Fit and more – demonstrated an innate musicianship and skill in production, especially in creative collaborations with rising talent including James Smith, Maya Delilah and Max Pope. Since then, Conor’s approach to music changed significantly. No longer just a producer and collaborator, he is now embracing his role first-and-foremost as an artist. He also found his voice – not just artistically but literally too, with Conor himself singing on all his forthcoming releases. Speaking more on his new single “We never talk”, Conor says, “I made this song during a time I was trying my hardest to be super palatable. I was listening to loads of pop music and obsessing about simplicity. I have a long history of not being great at maintaining relationships so it’s probably about that.”
