"At the risk of sounding a bit cheesy… at times being on tour can feel like a dream. Especially afterwards, when you’re back at home, it can all feel very unreal. We had the pleasure of touring quite a lot this year and wanted to share a bit of that live energy.

Both ‘Unstoppable’ and ‘Are You Real’ (where we reused a lyric from Are You Even Real, The Weight LP) were initially made for the live show. Then during our last tour in the States, just a few months ago, we wrote the track Dreaming. Merijn can get a bit scared during heavy turbulence, so he tends to write melodies on his phone to divert his attention on something else. After he made the first idea (while probably experiencing turbulence) we challenged ourselves to keep this one light and simple. Usually we go way ‘deeper’ and re-write/re-record lots of elements. This one is meant to be minimal - sometimes less is more :). While playing the live shows, we were surprised by the energy we got back from everyone. It inspired us to make new tracks for the show, to give a surprise back!" - Weval

‘Dreaming’ follows their acclaimed album 'Remember', released earlier this year on Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour, and comes ahead of a line of North American and UK/EU live dates this fall. The duo are set to make stops along the west coast, playing in Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco and San Diego in the second half of September. Then they’ll make their way through Istanbul (Mix Festival), Berlin (Pitchfork Festival - Berlin), London, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Paris and more throughout November.

Weval recently completed a EU/UK and North American tour earlier this year and played energising festival sets at the likes of Down The Rabbithole and Electric Castle this summer. They have previously performed with a live five-piece band to emphatic festival crowds at Primavera Sound, Sonar Festival Istanbul, DGTL Amsterdam, Lightning In A Bottle, OSHEAGA, Lost Village, Lowlands, Best Kept Secret and many more.

Weval are well known amongst peers and critics for their beautifully composed melodies and songwriting. Previous press coverage includes impressive support from Pitchfork, Billboard, The Line of Best Fit, Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Clash, SPIN, Brooklyn Vegan, Crack Magazine, Dummy, Magnetic Mag, The Vinyl Factory and more. Radio highlights include a live performance at the historic Maida Vale studio for BBC Radio 1’s Residency series (alongside artists such as Moderat, Darkstar, Gold Panda, Jessy Lanza and AKASE), plus support from the likes of Lauren Laverne, Tom Ravenscroft, KEXP, KCRW, SiriusXMU, Beats In Space and many more. Their music has been featured in TV shows Good Girls, Industry, and the HBO hit drama I May Destroy You by Michaela Coel.
